JFA Yacht launches its JFA Aviation Sales Division at the 2025 St. Petersburg Boat Show

JFA Aviation Launches at the St. Petersburg Boat Show

The 2025 St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show was held between the 16th and 19th of January, attracting boat buyers, owners, and enthusiasts. Among the vessels on display were many noteworthy yachts, however JFA Yacht was in attendance with two unique aircraft on display for the launch of JFA Aviation, the new aircraft sales division of the brokerage.

ICON A5

The Icon A5 is an amphibious light airplane with foldable wings and removable window panels. The vessel weighs just 1000 pounds and can reach altitudes of 13,000 feet. In-water lift-off occurs between 40 and 50 knots, while air speeds reach up to 90 knots, or just over 103 mph. With St. Petersburg being home to the first commercial flight in 1914, the boat show was a fitting event for this aircraft’s public showcase. JFA Aviation broker Shane Allen described the striking aircraft as a ‘jet-ski with wings’. For sale by JFA Aviation, this 2023 model with 108 operating hours is listed at $480,000. Captain Chris Brown, who is also a JFA Aviation broker and JFA Yacht broker, said, “We have a total of five aircraft for sale here at the show. Two ICON A5’s, the Cessna 185 on Floats, a 2006 Cirrus SR22, and a Beechcraft Twin Engine Baron 55. On our in water yacht display we have three amazing yachts: an immaculate 2019 Prestige 520, a very well maintained Tiara 43 that went under contract, and for the angler a Yellowfin 42 that also went under contract.

With the launch of JFA’s new aviation division, clients seeking aviation brokerage services can turn to the same trusted, integrity-based service they have come to expect of JFA Yacht.  James Fachtmann, airline pilot, yacht captain, and founder of JFA Yacht & JFA Aviation, gave special thanks to the St. Pete Air Team for assisting with the logistical challenges associated with placing both aircraft inside this year’s show. St. Pete Air is a comprehensive aviation service provider located at Albert Whitted Airport in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. They offer a range of services including flight training, aircraft rental, maintenance, avionics sales and service, and aircraft sales. “I love Albert Whitted Airport! My first time flying a small airplane was at SPG as a Civil Air Patrol Cadet in seventh grade. That was a longtime ago! It was so nice to fly in everything for the show this year. When it was time to buy my Baron 58P, I used Harrison of St. Pete Air to perform my pre-buy. I highly recommend him and his team!”
