-USCG 100T Master with Sailing and towing endorsements.

-First Puerto Rican female certified as a Scuba Instructor N.A.U.I. since 1985.

-First, Puerto Rican female certified as Captain, ASA instructor 1998.

Well known in the racing community in Annapolis, Maryland as Capitana Suzy. Has raced Internationally for more than 3 decades. Represented the Sailing Team in Puerto Rico in the Centro American Games in Ponce 1993 in the Female windsurfing category.

Capitana Suzy received a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Puerto Rico where she received a full scholarship in the female track and field team. She has been teaching watersports since 1981. Capitana Suzy is a sailing instructor (ASA), as well as a Scuba diving instructor, a Lifeguard, an Aqua-aerobics, swimming instructor, and a US Coast Guard licensed Master Captain.

She has experience teaching and coaching sports for more than 39 years: including swimming, sailing, track and field, soccer, scuba diving and other water sports. She is also an accomplished Spanish teacher with 25+ years of experience teaching in Maryland. Additionally, Captain Suzy has management, marketing, and curriculum development experience.  She owned a company, Capitana SOS, LLC – providing Captains, and chef to the Charter Industry for the last 7 years in the Caribbean and USA.
