Rupert Covell

Captain Rupert is English born and bred. He was coerced into sailing by his Grandparents from the age of 3 in Wales and it quickly developed into his passion. 

Boating in the British Isles isn’t quite the same as Florida with the focus predominantly being on yacht racing rather than fishing and leisure yachting. The yacht racing took him to Malaysia, Thailand, France, The Baltic, Spain and the Isle of Wight, England. 

After getting his degree he had a few years as an Insurance Broker and a Private Jet Broker in the City of London. Alas his passion was on the water and he decided to go back to being a full time Captain and explorer. Having carried out charters in most of the Mediterranean and all over the Caribbean he is well prepared for briefing anyone on the joys and ‘must see’ locations for yachting. 

Since getting married to a Registered Nurse in 2020, he has chosen a more ‘shore based’ life in Ft Lauderdale where he can broker, captain, and share his passion for the sea and knowledge with his clients. 

Captain Rupert has raced 41.1ft Beneteau First to Gunboats, Skippered 62ft Lagoon Catamarans, done 2 x Trans Atlantics, and is now Captain on a Pershing 70 performance cruiser with surface drives.
